An Evening to Remember: Birmingham Store Launch

In November, we officially launched our new Birmingham store in the Jewellery Quarter. We were joined by many of our Birmingham-based clients, along with plenty of new faces who’d come along for the much-anticipated Tom Hardy lookalike contest.

Being in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter sparked plenty of conversation about the local makers, the character of the area, and the buzz of being surrounded by so much creativity. As Jake put it:

“It felt like a natural home for us as tailors… Our vision is that the Jewellery Quarter becomes a go-to destination for crafted pieces that mark life’s important moments.”

A space made for wandering, talking and discovering.

Guests spent time exploring the new store too; a larger, lighter space filled with fabrics, mannequins and style inspiration. It was lovely to see people wandering through the consultation areas, chatting with the team, and getting a feel for what the new space has to offer.

As the evening warmed up, attention turned to the main event: a Tom Hardy lookalike competition. Each entrant brought something completely different to the stage, and the atmosphere quickly shifted from curious excitement to full-on cheers. The contest ultimately came down to three finalists: Aran, James and David.

Aran - Alfie Solomons

Arrived in full Alfie Solomons style, pocket watch, cane and pork-pie hat in hand. But it was his performance that clinched it: a gritty, pitch-perfect delivery of Ronnie Kray’s lines from Legend that had the whole room laughing and applauding.

James - Tom Hardy

Took a different route, coming not as a character but as Tom Hardy himself. His catwalk moment... a confident strut followed by a smouldering pose.

David - Ronnie Kray

Stepped into Ronnie Kray’s shoes, complete with braces, retro glasses and slicked-back hair that apparently required some convincing. His reenactment of the infamous pub scene from Legend had the crowd in stitches (pun intended).

In the end, Aran’s mix of resemblance, performance and pure commitment won the night, but every entrant brought something memorable. Aran's prize... A bespoke suit worth £1,500 and the honour of cutting the ribbon! (which he did expertly)

Reflecting on the evening, Jake said:

“It was wonderful to welcome so many people from the local community. The competition captured the spirit of what we’re about: celebrating individuality and style with joy and inclusivity.”

As guests explored the store between performances, there was a real sense of people settling into the space - chatting, trying things on, asking questions and discovering little details at their own pace.

By the end of the night, between the laughter, the performances and the conversations, it genuinely felt like we’d found our new home.
