Dressing for the Office this Summer
Summer office workwear can be a tricky challenge, trying to find a balance between keeping cool and staying smart... but fear not! We are here with some top tips to help you avoid overheating in those warmer months whilst levelling up your business style.
Pastel Shades
Lighter shades and pastel hues are becoming increasingly popular this summer, particularly within tailoring. Soft pinks and blues are subtle and stylish shades that work well for a full suit or for individual pieces if you’re wanting a more subtle look to complement existing pieces in your wardrobe.
Casual Base Layers
Swap your stiff shirts for a looser and flowy T-shirt in order to cool down your office attire. Casualing down your suit is also a key trend this summer with deconstructed tailoring looks taking full swing throughout 2024.
Wider Legs
For a less restrictive look, wide legged trousers have become increasingly popular due to comfort and style. Having a looser leg can enhance breathability making them a more comforting choice in the warmer climates. Wide leg trousers are a timeless and versatile addition to your summer workwear wardrobe, and is a style that isn’t going out of fashion any time soon.
Go Jacketless
If the heat really is too much at work, go jacketless! You can still look smart with just a waistcoat or shirt. You can also have fun with accessories to help provide detail to your deconstructed look - e.g. a tie or jewellery.
Lightweight Fabrics
Being stuck in a thick wool suit in the midst of summer can be quite unpleasant. If your office requires a suit all year round, consider investing in suits made with lighter weight fabrics for that extra bit of breathability. Bamboo and Crispaire cloths are great options for your summer suit - take advantage of our cloth offer (closes 31st May) and get £200 off your summer suit with these fabrics.
Footwear
With summer approaching it’s time to put the Chelsea Boots away. Why not pair your suit with a lighter loafer or moccasin - these are ideal for summer months and still look great with any suit. If you’re looking for something a little more comfortable day-to-day, a simple white trainer is the perfect option, particularly if you’re wanting a modern, relaxed take to your office look.
