Inspiration - Colours of the year: 2023
2023 colours of the year are making a splash in the fashion world. Here at King & Allen we’re seeing many client wedding and business suits also feature them; as bold plain cloths, check fabrics or accents in the lining or embroidery.
Whether you are planning a wedding outfit, looking for your latest casual look or business suit, you may want to consider incorporating these on-trend colours:
DIGITAL LAVENDER
Back in 2020, consumer trend forecaster WSGN predicted Digital Lavender as colour of the year for 2023. It’s already trending across fashion, tech and interiors; and we’ve seen this tactile pastel, cool hue appear across our clients' wedding and business suits alike.
As a sensory shade, Digital Lavender is linked to calmness and serenity, transcending luxe feel with luminous softness.
Hints of Lavender
Swan Hill, is hugely popular with our business clients. This merino wool with cashmere cloth weaves lavender into stripes and checks for a refined, lightweight suit (far left).
Serge & Solana cloth is hugely popular with our clients. Many clients choose this soft, elegant, lightweight Serge & Solana cloth for summer wedding-suits and formal garments. It’s also perfect for a pair of floaty trousers, especially in this on-trend shade of lilac (left).
Bring lavender into your look…
Accent of this year's harmonious colour can be added into your suit look via a bespoke-made lavender shirt.
Nadia is seen wearing her chic, bamboo slip-dress; a perfect look for both day and night.
This jacket features a contrast blue lining to complement the cloth of the lavender windowpane check.
VIVA MAGENTA (PANTONE 18-1750)
Pantone, the globally-recognised sorter and systemiser of colour, announced Viva Magenta (PANTONE 18-1750) as the colour for 2023.
As a bright, crimson red, Viva Magenta balances boldness with a feeling of fun. It promotes optimism and joy, which we can see across Chloe’s jacket and Jake’s waistcoat.
Get the magenta look…
Jake's waistcoat features floral magenta flowers to complement warm tweed front.
Chloe’s statement magenta jacket is made from Sherry stretch which is a great plain-weave, allrounder wool fabric. It’s hint of lycra adds elasticity into the ultra-lightweight cloth adding durability and an element of stretch and bounce-back into more close-fitting garments.
Why not combine the colours…
These hand-woven Harris Tweeds feature both the lavender and magenta tones. The finished cloth is vibrant and naturally textured so perfect for a waistcoat, casual jacket or overcoat.
