The Best Tailored Street Style Looks from ‘Fashion Month’

We may well be in the midst of Women’s fashion month, but that hasn’t stopped the fashion industry’s most stylish men from dressing for the occasion. Whilst we can’t take inspiration from the catwalks this month, there are plenty of looks worn by the men’s fashion elite that will inspire you to step up your style game.

Consider this street style roundup as your moodboard for Autumn, featuring luxurious overcoats, bold block colours, statement checks and forever classics in camel.

THE BEST TAILORED STREET STYLE LOOKS FROM ‘FASHION MONTH’

All shades of teal were popular on the streets this month. Whether it’s deep, petrol blue, jewel-toned teal or fresh aqua, we love the contemporary feel these colours lend to tailoring.

Whilst the double-breasted jacket with cloth covered buttons looks fantastic on Mr Proudlock, here, it’s not a look for everyone. If you’d like to try this look at home, we suggest keeping it simple with a single-breasted, 2 button jacket, peak lapels and no ticket pocket.

We created a similar suit for our SS16 collection, featuring this lovely Holland & Sherry Triple Crown cloth in teal melange. This cloth is now sold out, however King & Allen exclusively have 2 suits worth reserved for our clients. For a special touch, we used smokey mother of pearl buttons.

For several seasons now, camel has been working it’s way into our everyday attire. From chinos to suiting to the timelessly cool, cashmere overcoat, this colour has been everywhere this fashion month.

Overcoat season is quickly approaching, so it’s time to start planning. We love the minimal styling of the overcoat on the top right, with it’s deep opening, 2 button fastening and mid length.

We created a similar style for our AW15 collection in luxurious Pardessus cloth from Holland & Sherry. We used 3 buttons for the fastening on this one for a higher opening, making it warmer in the winter.

If you’ve started planning your Winter overcoat, these camel cloths would be wonderful choices. The one with the slight herringbone would look fantastic!

If you’re a long time reader of the King & Allen blog, you’ll know that we are big fans of bold checked cloths. The jackets worn by these gents on the street during fashion month are particularly lovely.

Whilst neutral in colour, the prints pack a punch. The jacket on the right is rather traditional, in brown glen plaid, but just look at the curved top on those patch pockets – very unusual!

We love this grey checked jacket we created for our AW13 collection. Again, a neutral colour palette, however the print speaks for itself. See how we used a patch pocket instead of a welt on the breast pocket – a lovely touch for a laid-back jacket.
